Happy birthday to my mother on this lovely Tuesday. In her honor, I’ll tell you a funny story. To preface, I think my mom is generally a pretty funny person, and she makes the occasional joke here and there, but she never really does anything that would be considered physical comedy, or slapstick, if you will. So maybe five years ago I was at my parents’ house after we had all gone somewhere, and I was following my mom into the house. They have a door to the house inside their garage that has a screen door in it. You walk up a few wooden stairs, the screen door opens out, the regular door opens into the house. She goes in first and shuts the door behind her and I follow about 20 seconds later, opening the screen door towards myself, and opening the regular door inwards, the door catches hard, and I slam my head into it, and bounce off backwards. Turns out, she had put her damn foot like 3 inches in from the opening of the door and tried to murder my head. She’s laughing and laughing and making fun of the sound my head made when it banged off the door. I clearly wasn’t mad, but I did point out that she NEVER does things like that, to which she responded, “I thought it would be funny, and it was!” Non-apologetic. Way to see it all the way through, ma.
I love you, mom.
Today I was tired. I’m still tired. I’m constantly tired. I do too much. I don’t sleep enough.
I overuse caffeine, probably.
I actually take a caffeine supplement everyday because I don’t like coffee, I gave up energy drinks a loooong time ago (I’ll have the occasional one here and there), and I’m trying to stay away from all of the soda in the world.
Caffeine is totally safe and I’m not in danger of dependency on it whatsoever…
Sidenote, that gif is from SNL. It’s drunk uncle. Go ahead and Youtube “Drunk Uncle SNL”, I’ll wait.
No seriously, I’ll wait…

…………………………..Ok how was it? Pretty friggin funny right?
Here’s something stupid I made because I have nothing but time on my hands tonight while trying to attempt to let the caffeine work it’s way out of my body…did you know Snoop Dogg changed his name to Snoop Lion?
Stupid, I know.
Moving on.
Since I realize that I am much better at getting things done if I make a list and actually prepare for those things. So I printed out every day of the month and the things that I’m supposed to do for that day as a little checklist type thing…
That should help.
I even stapled it. That means I’m taking it seriously.
Also, my friend Kelly posted this picture in the comments and says it’s what I get to look forward to…holy shit…
August should be interesting. Doing all of this stuff while working 10 hour days is probably going to be a little challenging, but at the end of the month, I know I’ll be happy I did it.
Here are two friends that are doing August challenges:
They are both great people and they are going to succeed. I just know it. It’s not too late…you can jump in and change something about yourself in August if you like…come on in…the water’s fine…
