So, 261 is here. It’s good to be losing weight at a decent clip…I’m sure that’ll slow down eventually…but for right now it seems like everything is on the right track. I had a great day today and there was really no reason. Nothing amazing happened. Nothing life changing….it was just a random Thursday. I was driving down the road on one of my 10 estimates today, and I just looked out the window and thought: “f*ck yes, today is a great day.”

Waking up at 5am is a bitch, let me tell you. Don’t do it. It’s not fun. The sun is barely up…or maybe it’s still dark…shit I don’t know. I’m so out of it that early it’s ridiculous.

After 4 days of doing all this “exercise” crap with no real plan I’ve decided a plan is probably the best way to go from here on out.

I’ve also decided to back off and say early morning run + after work workout is enough. All I’m doing is working out and then working out and then working out. I’m sore and it all hurts and blah blah blah I’m not sure that was the healthiest idea in the world. But whatever. The point is here’s the plan.

Still doing the super early run. Still going to bed really early. I find myself laying in bed at 9pm and then looking at the clock at 10 and then 11…so I’m going to commit to BEING in bed at 9 to start unwinding, but not actually laying down for the sleepy sleeps until my body feels ready.

ALSO look what I found:

I was digging through my books looking for different workout stuff because I really do want to get on an actual training program rather than just “doing what comes to mind” on a daily basis. Here’s how long it’s been since I last opened this book…

Yeah…that wedding invite is from 2010, I remember taking this book with me down to southern Indiana to see Steve get married. I must have forgotten to get totally ripped while I was down there…

So anyway, I don’t think by following this training regimen I’m going to look like Arnold. That’s not the point. The point is to lift weights and just commit to something. Here’s the training I’ll be doing:

I’m just going to jump into Friday since that’s tomorrow.

I’m going to try to remember to record a video tomorrow morning when I wake up, just because groggy Ben is hilarious, or so I tell myself.

Who knows, if all goes well, maybe I’ll start looking like the Austrian Oak himself…

Hopefully more like the left than the right…

I also took the obligatory “before” picture. However I’m not posting it because I’m not trying to give anyone nightmares. I will post it next to the “after” picture at day 30, swearsies!

I have had an unhealthy man-crush on Arnold Schwarzenegger ever since I can remember. I loved his movies growing up (I own all of them) and I was fascinated by his rise to stardom simply by lifting some weights and being charismatic. Come to find out his IQ is 135. Not too shabby for a meat-head. I don’t care about his politics, but becoming Governator of California is pretty impressive too.

Thanks for reading as always, and here’s a little treat for reading all the way to the end…it gets better the longer you watch it:

  1. Zack Heise says:

You should look into kettlebell workouts. They are supposed to be amazing for real life strength because it works so many muscles together instead of isolating one or two at a time. These on this website are supposedly the best quality sold at the cheapest price possible. http://www.onnit.com/kettlebells/

    Check them out

  2. What specific lifts are you doing? Are you tracking and working on progressing?

You're here...might as well say something...
