I have an awesome alarm on my phone. It’s a newer smartphone so I was able to download an alarm sound called “Nuclear Alarm”. It wakes me up NO problem everyday.
I don’t have a cell phone this month. I set the alarm on my computer to wake me up. It didn’t go off. I slept in all the way to 6:40 when Larry the wonder dog woke up and started growling for whatever reason. Sooooooo happy he did that. But really…
I found another alarm clock in a box in Larry’s room (yes, he has his own room). I now have a working alarm clock.
Not having a cell phone and/or Facebook feels foreign. I feel cut off for sure, and I think that has more to do with how much time I spend on my phone/Facebook everyday than it does with just not having access to those two things. I know plenty of people that aren’t constantly on their phone, and I’m really looking forward to breaking that habit.
So what about a quick recap of the day? Sure thing:
Larry wakes me up.
Go to work.
Go to Noon Hoops.
Go back to work.
Get out of work but leave Larry there.
Go to Animal Shelter, run around with dogs. (RAOK!)
Get Larry from work.
Go home and shower and shave.
Go to Long Beach to the Homebuilders Christmas Party.
I’ve missed volunteering at the animal shelter, it’s so much fun and the dogs love being outside running around:
That dog ran after that ball at least 10 more times after I recorded. Impressive, also adorable. Majestic, if you will.
When I did this stuff in June I remember there being more time to get it all in. Maybe I’m misremembering. Maybe I was more efficient 6 months ago? Who knows. All I know is I spent 5:30-8pm driving to/driving from/attending the Xmas party and that ate up a HUGE chunk of my night, so now it’s time for bed and I really haven’t written too much about anything. Shoot.
I did eat the dinner that the fambiz had prepaid for, I’m not going to waste money like that. It was prime rib and a potato, nothing insane. I drank water of course.
One weird thing I picked up on today was that I only caught myself swearing like 4 times rather than the dozen or so times that I did yesterday.
I actually for realsies seriously totally not joking have NOTHING going on tomorrow night so I can finally get this month set up properly with some new groceries and some pre-planning. Like missing my wake up. Pre-planning would have said, check the alarm situation. Duh.
I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants with this thing so far and that’s just DOOMED to fail. Much like…
One other thing I’ve noticed is the withdrawal symptoms from the caffeine are almost completely gone. I felt pretty good this morning and even though I was a little tired in the afternoon after I ate, it went away quickly. I know caffeine has a pretty quick half-life in the human body, but that was pretty darn quick.
